REBRAND ME DANIELE BUETTI.

A humble ballpoint pen is the tool Daniele Buetti uses to 'scar' the otherwise flawless models which saturate the pages of fashion magazines. Does this 'branding' make us see them as human, as vulnerable, or does it force them into becoming a commodity irretrievably? The other day a tattoo-artist friend revealed to me that clients can pay tattoo parlours to brand them, telling me a particularly horrific tale of a gentleman who, having lost a bet on a sporting match, was branded from his ear down to his mouth 'Chelsea Smile' style. In a world where we are faced with victims of facial disfigurement every day this behaviour is beyond me. Perhaps we shouldn't be given the opportunity to re-brand our bodies.

HEAVEN'S IN THE SKY, ELLIS ON EARTH.

Bret Easton Ellis is my favourite author. No Donna Tartt you cannot sneak in there with your one book every decade, it's Bret. Hands down. The 'DISAPPEAR HERE' in the title of this very blog is taken from his debut novel Less Than Zero.

I come to a red light, tempted to go through it, then stop once I see a billboard sign that I don't  remember seeing and I look up at it. All it says is 'Disappear Here' and even though it's probably an ad for some resort, it still freaks me out a little and I step on the gas really hard and the car screeches as I leave the light.

I CANNOT WAIT for The Canyons, a film written by Ellis and starring, seeming (intentionally I'm sure) rather like a character plucked from one of his novels to play this part, Lindsay Lohan.

No one will ever know anyone. We just have to deal with each other.

VERSACE BABYYY.

Whilst the world's infatuation with vintage Versace, Versus Versace and Versace V2 seems to have passed, as every fad does, my obsession remains. And I swear to Donatella it will ALWAYS remain.

This t-shirt is my BEST. FIND. EVER. 10€ (£8!!!) back in 2008 in a teeny-tiny vintage shop in Andratx, Mallorca.
